National Disc Golfers Competing for Thousands at Treasure Valley Cup at Eagle Island
Earlier this week I talked about Disc golf and how much fun we have as a family out and about playing and practicing. I shared a full list of local, public and free (some need a state parks pass) disc courses around the Treasure Valley. Check out the full list here.
Just a couple of days after that post I ended up playing the Eagle Island Disc Golf Course with my man Kris and some friends. I noticed areas that are marked off near the tee's. Come to find out there is a Disc Golf Tournament happening this weekend at Eagle Island.
It is called the Treasure Valley cup. This tournament has been going on since 2006, and is a solid 16 years and counting. Kris used to help run the tournaments in their early years. There is going to be 180 players from 8 states, including 90 professional disc golfers competing for thousands in cash.
A total of 3 rounds will be played. Two at Eagle Island Disc Golf course and for the third round they converted the Eagle Hills Golf Course into a Disc Course and are holding it there. There are national champions and major players and influencers in the Disc Golf scene that are in Boise and the Treasure Valley area this week for this major tournament.
The Treasure Valley Cup Driven by Innova Discs, 208 Discs, Integrity Heating and Air, Drink Rinse Repeat Growlers LLC. This is a PDGA A tier event. Both DG courses will be closed to the public the days of the tournament for tournament play.
