This is just awful all the way around. A woman was walking along I-84 early this morning when she was hit and killed by a semi.

No one knows yet why 57-year-old Cynthia J. Mead of Idaho Falls was walking along the freeway at 1:48 this morning but as she walked, she was hit by a semi that could not see her because of a curve in the road.

According to KTVB, the driver of the semi has been identified as 60-year-old Robert Pierce of Reno, Nevada and unfortunately, he just could not stop in time.

Cynthia's injuries were so severe that she died at the scene. The crash continues to be investigated, but please keep Cynthia's family and all who loved her in your thoughts and prayers today.

Always be extra careful walking or biking at night. Life is so precious and with just a little more caution things like this will hopefully not happen quite so often.
