Hey, Idaho Newbies! We’re Watching You In The Foothills!
There's no question that people from all over are continuing to flock to Idaho. That might infuriate longtime Idaho residents but the fact of the matter is, we can't stop it from happening and people will continue to move here.
How Do Outsiders Impact Idaho?
Some people worry that our traffic will get worse with more new people coming in. Others might be more concerned with job availability, housing, and maybe even the quality of our parks and wildlife.
And rightfully so.
Some outsiders could take Idaho's great outdoors for granted, leaving behind debris and trash as we've seen with one of Idaho's most popular secluded locations.

Outside of nature and Idaho's land, some fear that the crime rate will increase as the population rises. We aren't necessarily as worried but we respect those are concerned with how larger populations could impact the Treasure Valley.
But don't worry! Ada County Sheriff's Office is reminding everyone (not just newcomers) that they're always watching, especially in the foothills.
"For most of the year, Detective Bunnell spends his time as a school resource officer in Kuna," Ada County Sheriff's Office said in a social media post, "When summer vacation hits, he takes to the foothills and desert as our summer foothills patrol deputy."
The post includes a video of Detective Bunnell introducing himself as the Ada County Foothills and Desert Patrol deputy on his amazing-looking ACSO dirt bike.
There's no question that Detective Bunnell's primary focus is to keep people safe as they state in their post, but it also should serve as a stark reminder to the newbies of Idaho that no matter where you are... local law enforcement is keeping an eye on you...
...even in the foothills.
Check out Ada County Sheriff's post below and take note of their safety tips if you do plan on venturing out to the foothills.
