This Bone-Chilling Blizzard Is The Worst In Idaho History

We're in the thick of some serious cold weather and there's a good chance we might even get to subzero temps. It wouldn't be the first time that Idaho has experienced some serious weather either, not by a long shot.

A lot of us remember Snowpocalypse from just a few years ago but what do you know about the worst blizzard in the history of Idaho?

The Blizzard of '68/'69

At the time of this writing, it looks like there is some serious snow in the forecast but it pales in comparison to the staggering blizzard that struck Sandpoint from the end of 1968 to 1969.

According to OnlyInYourState.com, it began snowing in Sandpoint in the last few days of 1986 with temperatures reportedly getting as low as negative thirty degrees. It was only a few days later when reports started coming in that the area in and around Sandpoint received up to 32 inches of snow.

It gets even crazier as Sandpoint reportedly accumulated around 82 inches of snow AKA 12 feet of snow.

Can you imagine walking out of your door and seeing 12 feet of snow? It's tough to imagine and there have been some other serious storms in the history of the Gem State.
