Driving through Ontario, Oregon? Think twice about going near your cellphone.
How bad is the problem? When I lived in Michigan, a young woman rolled her car right out of my front door because she was texting and driving. Fortunately she survived but things could have turned out very bad.
Oregon State Police gave out 60 citations to drivers using their cellphones during a four-hour period in September. Officials said those results were so high, Oregon State Police conducted another sting in October and, with Nyssa and Ontario police, handed out 45 more citations to cellphone violators.
