Surely this is some awful spring cleaning marketing ploy... right?

Spring is officially here and although we have had some false starts to the season, the season rolls on. Obviously we don't get the 60-70 degree temperatures immediately, but they're coming. In the meantime, we can start on the spring cleaning. What is spring cleaning? Well, basically someone came up with the idea to deep clean your house when winter is over. As you open up your home and let that sunshine in, it's time to get all of the gunk off of the roof, in the gutter, and plastered to the baseboards. It's also an excellent time to go through your wardrobe and get rid of any clothes you don't feel fit with your new post-winter self.

It's almost like a caterpillar coming out of its cocoon.

I also find that spring time is usually the time I start to see all the dirt on a microscopic level throughout my house. I'm just ready for a fresh start. This is also why I believe resolutions are better kept when you start them in the spring.

Oh, and apparently cleaning your house can reduce your stress levels.

I know, it sounds like a trap. However, I have to agree here. When my house is a mess, I feel all out of sorts and like I'm operating in a haze. One survey, published on Global Newswire and conducted by Bona, says that "nine out of 10 Americans feel more relaxed" when their living space is clean. And boy, do I love a clean and organized house.

Respondents reportedly mostly felt productive, relieved, and happy.

Another survey found that not all chores are completely terrible. In fact, there are some that we can tolerate better than others. Real Simple published a survey conducted by Clorox that claims laundry is our least-hated chore. Of all the chores out there, like scrubbing the bathroom or dusting, we would prefer to be stuck with laundry duty. On the other side of that list is dusting and organizing bedrooms.

Honestly, I'd rather dust than do the laundry. At least with dusting, it's done within an hour. Laundry is a long process of sorting and turning over and folding and sorting again and ironing... Ugh, I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Which chore do you hate the most?
