Rick and Carly’s Kids: Meet Mady

"Rick and Carly's Kids" is designed to bring awareness of different issues that children and families are facing here in the Treasure Valley. They may not fit in a box, they may have issues you don't normally think about, but we want them to know that they matter. Meet Mady!

Mady is a 13 year old girl who lives here in Boise. Mady has dealt with a lot of loss in her life. Her Mom, says that 7 people have died in their family during the last ten years and its been really tough on Mady. She deals with depression and has turned to cutting herself as a result to deal with the emotional pain she is facing. This may be something you can't wrap your head around, but it's a battle that Mady and her family are facing everyday.

Mady is a passionate dirt car racer and it's something that helps bring her out of her depression.

Thankfully, Meridian Speedway partnered with Rick and Carly's Kids to hook up Mady and her family with Season Passes for the upcoming 2017 season. Maddy will also get a private tour of the track and the pit and she scores an opportunity to ride in a pace car!!

To help get Mady on a better track mentally she is being offered counseling sessions through Balanced Solutions Counseling with Brittany Kasefang or Aundrea Peaslee at Meridian Counseling Center. Both counselors specialize in working with families, teens, and pre-teens. They are incredible therapists that can be reached at 208-713-4961.

Mady and her family will also be joining us for our WOW Spring Fling Concert on April 8th with American Idol Trent Harmon, Runaway June, Seth Ennis, and Michael Tyler and they'll be joining us for the Boise Music Festival on June 24th with The Band Perry, FloRida, and Sean Kingston. Plus, we're hooking them up with breakfast or lunch at Steve's Cafe in Meridian!!
