Boise, Nampa, Meridian and Caldwell August and September Events

We are nearly halfway through August and trailing the end of summer, even though it doesn't feel that way since we are still in triple digit temps. As kids head back to school and the summer, does eventually wind down it is a great time to get out and take advantage of treasure valley events. Most of these are free, although some do have admission costs, or things to buy once you get in.

First we have a creepy one for Friday the 13th. The Idaho Halloween & Horror Convention (Idaho HorrorCon) Tomorrow at the Red Lion Hotel in Boise. If you like creepy and spooky, click here to learn more.

Hot Potato Fest - August 14th at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell. Featuring different foods made from potatoes, potato-related activities, and live music from bands that love potatoes. ;)

Nampa Festival of The Arts August 14 and 15 at Lakeview Park. This is the 34th annual event. According to the City of Nampa, "This year’s festival features unique handmade items with over 200 artisans. Items include candles, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, pottery, woodwork, glass, metal, photography, and more." This year will also feature plenty of kids activities, live entertainment and more!

Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Annual Treasure Valley Visit - August 17-22nd at various locations around town. This isn't and event but a great silly and fun photo opp. Click here to learn more and find out when and where to see the giant wiener.

Western Idaho State Fair - August 20-28th at Expo Idaho with fair food, fair rides, fair games and great live music. Here is the lineup Aug 23: Granger Smith, Aug 24: Nelly,  Aug 25: Chicago, Aug 26: Jon Pardi, Aug 27: Seether. Learn more and get passes here.

Water Lantern Festival - August 21st at Julia Davis Park. You can write on your very own lantern (included in your ticket cost) and sent it sailing off onto the water for yourself or a loved one.

Annual Warbird Roundup - August 28th and 29th at The Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa. The event is in it's 19th annual year and while the museum hosts a series of events throughout the year, this is the most attended and popular as people can get up close and personal to historic war planes and see a mini airshow of them taking flight.

Idaho Shakespeare Festival - August 30th at Warm Springs Ave enjoy lots of plays and performances with this annual gala including an online auction and more.

Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic - September 1-5 at Anne Morrison park and in the skies of Boise. This is the 30th anniversary of the magnificent Spirit of Boise Balloon classic where dozens of hot air balloons fill the fields and the skies. Special evens, activities, music and vendors. The Boise Taco and Margarita Festival - September 18 at at Revolution Concert House and Event Center. There will be fun vendors selling various merchandise as well as dozens of taco stops, vendors and food trucks to sample tacos from all around the city. With free general admission, you have to buy your food and drinks, or 21+ VIP passes.

Old-Town Boise's Oktoberfest - September 18th in Downtown Boise on 6th and main and on the Basque Block. Enjoy Biers, Brats, Music, Games and Craft and Retail Vendors.

Treefort Music Fest - September 22 - 26 in Downtown Boise. Described as a multi-venue, emerging artist music festival. There are updates and new COVID measures this year that need to be looked at if you plan on going.
